Falcons Struggle On The Road In Loss To Beavers
Folsom, CA – The Falcons (5-13, 1-5 Big-8) lost by three (69-66) to the Beavers (5-13, 4-3 Big-8) in the second game of a tough, three-game week.
The Falcons struggled offensively in the first half and were held to 26 points by the American River defense. With a spark from their bench, the Falcons were able to increase their scoring output in the second half, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons suffer their fifth conference loss.
Freshman forward, Tariq Ali had a great night going 7-of-11 from the field and 3-of-5 from three, for 20 points and added three (3) steals. Sophomore forward Dane Jonson, also contributed 16 points going 6-of-8 from the field and knocking down 3-of-5 free throws.
The Falcons now head to Sacramento City College (9-9, 2-4 Big-8) to face the Panthers at 5:30 pm on Saturday, January 14th. The Falcons' next home game is on Tuesday, January 17th when they face the Sierra College Wolverines (8-10, 2-4 Big-8) in Falcons Gymnasium at 5:30 pm.
