Falcons fall to highly touted Columbia

The Falcons travelled to Sonora for the Columbia College Tournament on Friday evening, with games against Columbia on Friday and West Hills Coalinga on Saturday.  In the opener against the 4-0 Claim Jumpers, the Falcons got off to a solid start, leading 44-39 at halftime.   Perhaps there was no heat in the locker room, or something in the water, because the Falcons came out for the second half and could not buy a bucket.  The 'Jumpers ran off 11 straight points to open the half and never looked back.  By the time the Falcons found their stroke,  Columbia had built a 15 point lead on their way to a 88-68 win.  Matt Lyon led the Falcons with 13 points, while Grant Bellis and Isiah Maun added 11 and 10, respectively.
