Falcons' pitching collapses in 12-9 loss to Marin

Mired in a four-game losing streak, the FLC baseball team hosted College of Marin in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon hoping to get back in the win column.  Despite putting up nine runs, the Falcons fell to the Mariners 12-9. A parade of eight FLC pitchers combined to allow 10 earned runs on 13 hits while issuing 11 walks. Even with the pitching nightmare, the Falcons loaded the bases in the ninth with their best hitter, Carson McCusker up to bat with a chance to tie the game. The Mariners gambled with a rarely used bases-loaded intentional walk, forcing in a run and bringing the potential winning run to the plate in Aidan Malm. The strategy paid off for the Mariners as Malm grounded into a game-ending force out at second base. Sophomore catcher Mason Allen led the team offensively with two hits - including a double - and four RBI .
