Baseball remains undefeated in April with 8-2 win

Using the tried-and-true formula of strong pitching and solid defense, the FLC baseball team continued their April push towards the NorCal playoffs with a decisive 8-2 win over College of Marin on Thursday afternoon at Falcon Field.  Sophomore starting pitcher Will Felton allowed just two runs on six hits without issuing a walk over 6-2/3 innings, while the Falcon defense was flawless behind him.  Meanwhile, the Mariners committed five errors, four of which led directly to Falcon runs.  Offensively, FLC third baseman Charley Harbor had two perfectly-placed safety squeeze bunts resulting in two RBI.  Left fielder Greg Vaughn had two RBI singles and stole a base, and both Mason Allen and Tyler Kaim had a double and a single apiece.

The Falcons improved to 4-0 in April and have yielded just five runs in the those four games.  Going back to mid-March, they've won 8 of their last 10 games and are presently in third place in the Bay Valley Conference at 13-5, just a half game behind second-place Los Medanos.  They've got two home games left in the regular season; Saturday against Solano at 12 noon and Tuesday against Yuba starting at 2:30.
