The Falcons badly needed a win on Friday night, or else risk falling out of contention in the Big 8 title chase. Playing against a Delta College squad that had previously defeated the Falcons in Stockton a month ago, the Falcons upended the Mustangs in four sets, 25-22, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21 on Friday night in Falcon Gym. The two opponents went into the match tied for second place in the Big 8 – along with Sierra – behind leader American River. The win over Delta, coupled with Sierra's defeat of ARC, puts the Falcons in a three-way tie for first place with six matches to play, including at Sierra on Friday night. Individually, Caitlin Dillon (18 kills, 18 digs), Alicia Wilson (9 kills, 3 blocks), and Kaitlin Bullock (7 kills, 6 digs) all had big games for the Falcons.
They'll travel to Modesto on Wednesday before the big showdown at Sierra on Friday night.
