Head Coach Ali Mollet enters her sixth year at the helm of the Folsom Lake College (FLC) women’s basketball program. In just a few short years Mollet has turned a new program into a competitive force in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).

2022-23 was a record-breaking year for FLC women’s basketball as Coach Mollet’s vision started to morph itself into what she knew this program could be. The Falcons hung their hat on Mollet’s philosophy of tough, half-court man-to-man defense and a mix of fast-tempo and balanced, disciplined half-court offense. The 2022-23 Falcons finished 23-7 (an 11-game improvement from the previous year). This season saw the program jump to their highest ranking, #13 in the state. They finished 12-4 in the Big 8 Conference and made it to the CCCAA State Sweet 16, the furthest playoff run thus far in program history. Many program records were shattered by this group as the 2022-23 Falcons currently hold the top team single season records in 15 of 22 countable categories since the program first started in 2017.

Even more impressive than the team’s success the court was the program’s commitment to the classroom. The Falcons consistently earn a team GPA above a 3.0 and finished with an average team GPA of 3.45 last fall and a 3.38 this past spring.

The 2021-22 season saw its fair share of ups and downs due to the ever-changing Covid-19 protocols and the previous 2020-21 season canceled. Despite having a 21-day hiatus during January, the Falcons got two big wins vs the #10 and #13 ranked teams in the state, and ended up hosting and winning a home playoff for the first time in program history.

The 2019-2020 season, Coach Mollet’s second year at the helm, saw great strides taken as FLC started to make itself known as one of the toughest teams to play in the state with notable wins against state ranked #20, #13, and #11 teams. The Falcons finished the season ranked #13 in Northern California with a 16-13 overall record, placing 4th-place in the highly competitive Big-8 Conference while earning the #12-seed in their first ever CCCAA State Playoff appearance.

In the 2018-19 season, Coach Mollet and her staff took their inaugural squad and more than doubled the previous year’s win total, with a notable win against the state ranked #15 team, finishing 11-15 overall and in 6th place in the Big-8 Conference.

Before coming to FLC, she spent six seasons as the assistant women's basketball coach at Division II Chico State under Brian Fogel.  After joining Coach Fogel's staff in 2012, Mollet helped guide the Wildcats to a CCAA Conference championship title in 2013, two trips to the NCAA tournament, and a USA Today ranking as high as #9 in the nation.

Prior to her stint in Chico, Mollet served as Director of Women’s Basketball Operations at Sacramento State in 2010-11 and spent two seasons as an assistant at Sacramento City College from 2008-10.

Coach Mollet played her college ball at Sacramento State as part of the Hornets’ backcourt corps. She was a prep star at San Jose’s Del Mar High School, where she is still the school’s all-time assist leader, and a member of the Del Mar High School Athletic Hall of Fame.  She received her bachelor’s degree in Digital Media Communications from Sacramento State in 2008 and obtained her master’s degree in Kinesiology/Sport Performance from Sac State in 2010.
