Basketball Showdown: San Francisco City College Rams vs. Folsom Lake College Falcons in NorCal Regional Clash

Folsom - Get ready for an exciting matchup as the 5th-seeded San Francisco City College prepares to face off against the 4th-seeded Folsom Lake College on Saturday, March 9th, at 7:00 pm in Folsom. The Falcons secured their position by clinching the #4 seed in the NorCal Regional, which granted them a first-round bye and home-court advantage throughout the regional tournament.

After earning the bye, the Falcons eagerly awaited the outcome of the first-round game between the College of the Siskiyous (#13) and Reedley College (#20). Siskiyous narrowly emerged victorious by one point, setting the stage for a second-round clash with the Falcons in Folsom. In that matchup, the Falcons dominated, claiming a convincing 77-43 victory.

Meanwhile, the San Francisco City College Rams, seeded at #5 in this year's Northern California Regional, also enjoyed a first-round bye. They patiently awaited the winner of the Sierra College (#12) versus College of the Redwoods (#21) game. Sierra secured a decisive 83-51 win over Redwoods, leading to a #12 vs. #5 showdown between the Wolverines and the Rams. The Rams showcased their prowess, concluding the game with a commanding 82-64 victory.

Both teams bring impressive records to the court, with the Falcons boasting a 21-8 overall record after clinching 2nd place in the highly competitive Big 8 conference. The Rams, on the other hand, clinched first place in the Coast-North Conference and hold an overall record of 21-7. This upcoming match marks the first meeting between these two teams in the 2023-24 season.

Anticipate a high-scoring affair in Folsom on Saturday night, with the Falcons maintaining an average of 74 points per game, a 46.5% field goal percentage, and a 32.5% three-point percentage throughout the season. The Rams, with an average of 69.4 points per game, a 42.8% field goal percentage, and a 27.8% three-point percentage, are set to provide a formidable challenge in this thrilling encounter. The winner of this game will advance to the 3C2A State Championship, scheduled to be held at Mount San Antonio College from March 14-17.
