No. 9 Folsom Lake Secures Redemption Victory Over No.13 Santa Rosa in Big 8 Conference Clash

Folsom - In a highly anticipated rematch between No. 9, Folsom Lake College Falcons and the No. 13, Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs. This game held special significance as the previous encounter between these two teams ended in a nail-biting overtime victory for Santa Rosa.

From the opening tip-off, both teams displayed tenacity and determination. The first quarter saw a closely contested battle, with Folsom Lake holding a slim 16-15 lead. The Falcons built on their momentum in the second quarter, outscoring Santa Rosa 18-13 to take a 34-28 advantage into halftime.

Folsom Lake's offensive prowess continued in the second half, with players like Emily Ko, Alysa Lopez, and Ashleigh Briggs leading the charge. Ko's sharpshooting from beyond the arc, Lopez's playmaking, and Briggs' scoring in the paint contributed significantly to the Falcons' success.

Santa Rosa fought back in the third and fourth quarters, attempting to close the gap, but Folsom Lake's defense held strong. Corrie Harrison's double-double performance, along with contributions from Gianna Darte and Khalilah Corley, ensured the Falcons maintained control down the stretch.

Folsom Lake's shooting efficiency, particularly from three-point range (32.1%), and solid free-throw shooting (87.5%) played crucial roles in securing the win. The victory not only avenged their previous defeat but also strengthened Folsom Lake's position in the competitive Big 8 Conference.
