Folsom - In a gripping encounter at Folsom Lake College, the Falcons squared off against the formidable San Joaquin Delta College Mustangs on Tuesday. Despite facing a daunting opponent, the Falcons showcased their resilience from the onset. However, a relentless San Joaquin Delta offense seized an early lead, capitalizing on defensive lapses to race ahead 5-0 by the second inning.
Undeterred, Folsom Lake rallied in the third inning, sparked by Summer Lagomarsino's clutch double that drove in two runs, breathing life into their pursuit. Yet, despite their spirited effort, the Mustangs maintained their grip, adding another run in the fourth inning, extending their lead to 6-2.
Throughout the game, the Falcons exhibited commendable determination, epitomized by Isabella Robinson's steadfast pitching, which kept the Mustangs in check in the latter stages of the game. However, their offensive endeavors fell short, thwarted by a resolute San Joaquin Delta defense.
