FLC Dominates Diablo Valley in Commanding Victory
Pleasant Hill- In a thrilling clash, the Falcons demonstrated their dominance against the Diablo Valley College Vikings, clinching a decisive 8-0 victory.
The Folsom Lake batters were in top form, collecting an impressive 11 hits throughout the game. Isabella Robinson led the charge with two hits and a run, while Aila Lyden, Clare Yanez, and Marica Watson all contributed vital hits and runs.
The scoring action kicked off in the 2nd inning when Kamora Baptiste's hard ground ball led to an error by Diablo Valley's third baseman Ori Rinne, allowing Hannah Bunch to score and putting Folsom Lake in the lead 1-0.
In the 4th inning, a sacrifice fly from Bunch drove in Summer Lagomarsino's run, extending the lead to 2-0. Shortly after, Watson seized an opportunity created by an error from Diablo Valley's first baseman Marissa Duby, pushing the lead to 3-0.
The 5th inning showcased Folsom Lake's offensive prowess. Lyden's line-drive single brought Robinson home, while Yanez scored on a wild pitch, widening the gap to 5-0. Watson's single and a sacrifice fly from Baptiste secured a dominant 8-0 lead, sealing Folsom Lake's control over the game.
Pitching ace Isabella Robinson delivered an exceptional performance, allowing only three hits over five innings with six strikeouts and zero earned runs.
