Falcons Triumph in Home Opener Against College of the Redwoods
Folsom - In their home opener, the Folsom Lake College Falcons showcased their prowess on the diamond, securing a solid 6-2 victory against the College of the Redwoods Corsairs in a non-conference clash.
The Falcons set the tone early, grabbing a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The game saw notable offensive contributions from Isabella Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with a crucial RBI, and Abigail Love, who powered the team with a 2-for-3 performance, including two doubles and two RBIs.
Pitcher Aila Lyden demonstrated her skill and composure on the mound, earning the win with a solid seven-inning performance. Lyden allowed only two earned runs while striking out two batters, guiding the Falcons to a well-deserved triumph.
The Falcons displayed both speed and smart baserunning, with Robinson, Jaimes, and Marica Watson all contributing stolen bases. Jaimes, in particular, had a standout performance, reaching base twice and swiping two bags.
