Montoya Commits to Penn State Behrend
Congratulations to Itzel Montoya who has committed to play softball at Pennsylvania State University-Behrend. Itzel chose Penn State because of their prestigious program in Forensic Science. She finished with a 4.0 GPA this spring while majoring in Forensic Science.
Itzel graduated from Kimball High School (Tracy, CA) and is one of many who lived in off-campus housing. In Itzel's first season as a Falcon she played in 19 games as a designated hitter while hitting .333 with a .405 on base percentage in 33 at bats. After hard work on defense and building confidence, she returned in her 2nd season to play in 46 games, while batting .343 with a .422 on base percentage. She made outstanding plays in Right Field while earning 2nd Team All Big 8 Conference Team honors.
Itzel's work ethic, leadership, positive impact on teammates and growth on and off the field led FLC to their recent success.
