Falcons Lose to Palomar in CCCAA Softball State Championship

Walnut, CA – The Falcons faced off against the number one overall team in California, Palomar College, in the first round of the CCCAA Softball State Championship. The first time these teams faced off (during the regular season), the Palomar Comets found themselves down 3-1 in the top of the 7th inning where they scored 7 runs to defeat the Falcons by a score of 8-3. This time, it was the Falcons who found themselves down 4-1 in the top of the 7th inning. Unfortunately, the 13 seeded Falcons were unable to produce any late-game offense and lost the game 4-1.

The only run for the Falcons came in the top of the 5th inning when Elizabeth Wylie singled to right field, bringing in teammate Araceli Jaimes.

With a CCCAA Softball State Championship record of 0-1, and facing elimination, the Falcons' next game will take place on Friday against Cypress College who lost their first game (3-0) of the tournament to defending state champion, College of San Mateo.
