FLC loses close one to #4 ranked Delta, 3-0

For the second time in as many games, the FLC softball team faced a top-5 ranked team and nearly pulled off an upset.  The Falcons fell to state #4-ranked Delta College (12-1 in the Big 8, 25-3 overall) 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Falcon Diamond, but once again proved that they can play with anyone.  After giving up two first-inning runs, FLC pitcher McKenna Rickles shut down the Mustangs' bats through the next five innings.  Unfortunately for the Falcons, the Delta pitcher was just as stingy and the Falcon bats couldn't get much going.

"Our defense has really improved," noted head coach Jenna Alexander.  "We just really need to get the bats going now." 

The Falcons will play a non-conference doubleheader at Chabot College (Hayward) on Saturday at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
