Falcons get back in the win column, defeat West Valley 2-0

The FLC men's soccer team got back to their winning ways on Saturday evening with a 2-0 victory over West Valley at Falcon Stadium.  The Falcons, who were shutout on Thursday at De Anza, got a first-half unassisted goal by sophomore forward Kyle Reilly in the 28th minute to take a 1-0 lead.  With that lead came a different style of play for the Falcons, including a more relaxed and confident approach.  Early in the second half sophomore Nathan Gosal padded the Falcon lead with a goal assisted by Kyle Reilly.  The Falcons then weathered the Vikings' desperation attack to hang on for the 2-0 win.  Goalkeepers Connor Edwards and Alonso Ruiz split the duties and shared the shutout victory.  Freshman midfielder Isaac Ramirez and Kyle Reilly were singled out by coach Johnson for their outstanding play.

The Falcons evened their record at 2-2 and will host Skyline College (4-0) on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 pm at FLC.
