Falcons win back-and-forth game over Comets
The Falcons somehow found a way to win a back-and-forth game on Friday night as they defeated Contra Costa, 70-63 at Falcon Gym. The Falcons held a slim one-point lead at halftime (37-36) and the teams were never separated by more than 6 points until the final buzzer. Sophomore Clayton Davis led the Falcons with 15 points while sophomore Gavyn Kamminga recorded a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The game might not have been nearly as close as it was except for poor free throw shooting by the Falcons: they managed just 39% on 7-of-18 shooting from the line! Still, they got a much-needed win as they improved to 3-8 with one more non-conference game to play this week – at Solano College on Thursday – before opening Big 8 Conference play next week.
