Extra-Inning Drama: Falcons Triumph in Thrilling Series Finale against Santa Rosa

Folsom -  In the heart-pounding conclusion to the three-game series, Folsom Lake College clashed with the Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs on Sunday. The scoreboard oscillated with intensity, mirroring the rollercoaster nature of the series.

Originally slated for Friday, March 1st, rain forced a reschedule to Sunday, March 3rd. As the two teams faced off for the third time, anticipation hung in the air, and both squads aimed to break the 1-1 tie in the series.

The Falcons came out strong in the fifth inning when Kobe Rolling's sacrifice fly brought Konner McClellin home, giving Folsom a 1-0 lead. In the sixth, Quincy Malbrough's clutch hit drove in two more runs, capitalizing on errors to extend their lead to 3-0.

Santa Rosa, undeterred, rallied in the seventh, with Tyler Nordyke's double putting them on the board at 3-1. The game intensified in the eighth, as Max Debiec's timely single stretched Folsom's lead to 5-1, only to be countered by Zane Bennett's two-run homer, narrowing the gap to 5-3. Nordyke's subsequent double made it 5-4.

As tension reached its peak in the ninth, Michael Ryan's single secured another run for Folsom, but Santa Rosa answered in the bottom half. Josh Martin's dramatic two-run homer tied the game at 6-6, sending the matchup into extra innings.

In the 13th inning, Folsom Lake's resilience shone through. A Santa Rosa error allowed Rolling to reach first, propelling Darryl Dilworth to second and Debiec to cross the plate. Folsom held on, winning the game 7-6, capping a thrilling series.
