Falcons complete sweep of Santa Rosa; improve to 6-0 in Big 8
The Folsom Lake baseball team completed their second series sweep of a Big 8 opponent with a convincing 9-3 win at Santa Rosa on Friday. The Falcons again utilized their proven success strategy of solid starting pitching and relentless hitting. The Falcons scored six runs in the first two innings to give starter Skylar Wells a comfortable early lead. Wells gave up a first inning solo home run, but was sharp enough to pitch into the sixth inning allowing jst two earned runs. Cameron Saso and Cole Tremain shut down the Bear Cubs over the final 3+ innings to preserve Wells' win. Designated hitter Wyatt Reginato proved to be a tough out, going 4-for-4 with 2 RBI. Jared Breedwell continued to be a thorn in the Bear Cubs' side with two more hits and two runs scored. In the three games against Santa Rosa, Breedwell was 7-for-15 with two homers and a double and 6 RBI.
The Falcons (18-2-1, 6-0 in Big 8) are currently ranked #4 in California, though they could climb a spot or two in this week's rankings after both Saddleback and Santa Ana lost last week. The Falcons will face Cosumnes River (12-9, 5-4 Big 8) this week with home games on Tuesday and Saturday and at CRC on Thursday.
