The Falcons won on Opening Day for the third year in a row as they defeated Butte College on Friday afternoon in Oroville, 8-2. Folsom Lake sophomore pitcher Grant Dragmire kept the Roadrunners in check as he allowed just one hit through the first five innings. Catcher Mason Allen put the Falcons on the board with a two-run homer in the sixth inning, his first of three hits. Freshman right fielder Carson McCusker also had three hits – including a home run and a double - and three RBI in his first collegiate game. Pitchers Austin Beard and Shane Gustafson shut down Butte over the final 3+ innings to preserve the win for the Falcons.
