Folsom Lake Beach Volleyball Pairs Qualify for 3C2A NorCal Regionals

Folsom Lake College's beach volleyball team concluded the Big 8 Conference season in 5th place out of 7 teams. This standing allowed the team to send two pairs—Mackenzie Natusch and Abigail Seabury (1s) and Piper Jones and Kimora McKechnie (2s)—to the Big 8 Conference Pairs Championships held at the College of Marin last Friday.

It was a demanding day due to high winds at the College of Marin. Piper Jones and Kimora McKechnie secured wins against Cosumnes River and San Joaquin Delta's 3s pairs but lost to Sierra 1s and San Joaquin Delta's 2s pairs, just missing out on NorCal Regional playoffs qualification by one match win.

In the 1s bracket, Mackenzie Natusch and Abigail Seabury defeated American River's 4s and San Joaquin Delta's 1s pairs, earning automatic qualification for the NorCal Regional playoffs. However, they fell in the semi-finals to ARC 1s in two sets and were defeated in one set to 21 against Sierra 3s pair, finishing the tournament as the 4th seed. Jones and McKechnie, seeded 15th, finished 13th.

3C2A Beach Volleyball Pairs NorCal Regionals

Natusch and Seabury will advance to the 3C2A NorCal Regional Pairs Tournament, representing FLC as the 11th seed. They will face the 22nd-seeded pair from Shasta College, Brown/Church. This will be the second time these two pairs meet with FLC winning the first match (21-8, 19-21, 18-16). The match is set for Friday, May 3rd, at 9 AM at the Sacramento Softball Complex.

The tournament will take place over two days: Friday, May 3rd, at the Sacramento Softball Complex and Saturday, May 4th, at Sacramento State University. Natusch and Seabury need to win two matches to qualify for the 3C2A Beach Volleyball Pairs State Tournament hosted at West Valley College on May 9th and 10th.
