FLC Women's Soccer Staff Named NorCal Staff of The Year

Folsom, CA – In his 10th year as the Head Coach of the Folsom Lake College Women's Soccer team, Donny Ribaudo, and his staff: Pat Powers, Chris Starr, Robert Gray, Bryan Holland, and Teo Delgado, have been named NorCal Staff of the Year by the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association (CCCSCA). This is the first time that Ribaudo and his staff receive this prestigious award which is voted on by their peers. "I'm so grateful for this recognition, and I want to make sure that my staff gets the recognition they deserve as well. We've been working together for many years, trying to refine our approach so that our program is consistently a high-achieving program both on the field and off the field and I feel like this award recognizes our efforts. These types of awards feel great, especially because it's voted on by other coaches, but we take great pride in mentoring and developing our student athletes, seeing them succeed on and off the field is the ultimate award," said Ribaudo about receiving the honor.

This recognition is one more accolade to add to the Falcon's impressive 2022 season in which Ribaudo led his team to an overall record of 18-1-3 and a perfect (11-0) Big-8 Conference record. During this run, the Falcons only conceded seven (7) goals in total and only one (1) goal during conference play. The Falcons reached the Elite Eight in the CCCAA State Championship tournament for the fifth time in program history, and ended the season being ranked eighth nationally. Individually, the 2022 Falcons accounted for eight (8) Big-8 All Conference players, six (6) Big-8 All Tournament players, Big-8 Defensive Player of the Year, Big-8 Attacker of the Year, four (4) CCCAA All State players, two (2) United Soccer Coaches All West Region players, and two (2) United Soccer Coaches Scholar All Americans.

In his career as the Falcons' Head Coach, Ribaudo has accumulated an impressive overall .811 winning percentage with an overall record of 156-26-27. Against conference opponents, Ribaudo has a .829 winning percentage with a record of 90-13-14 and has achieved a perfect conference record twice (2014, 2022).  Ribaudo has won a conference title 6-of-9 seasons, has reached the state championship tournament in all 9 years of competition (no competition in 2020 due to COVID-19), and has finished nationally ranked in 8-of-9 seasons.

Equally as impressive, Ribaudo-led teams have achieved a 99% graduation rate, and an overall team GPA of 3.0. FLC Women's Soccer has been named Folsom Lake College's, Scholar Team of the year twice (2014, 2018) and was named the CCCAA Scholar Team of the State in 2014.
