Wolverines defeat Falcons in 3 sets

The Folsom Lake women's volleyball team suffered yet another loss on Wednesday night to a team they previously defeated in three sets, this time to Sierra, 3-0 (229-27, 25-15, 25-20) at Falcon Gym.  The Falcons showed signs of their old selves in the first set and had several chances to win the set, but couldn't close it out.  The close loss appeared to demoralize the squad and carried over well into the second set.  They rebounded somewhat and made a competitve run in the third set, but errors doomed the match late in the set. 

With just three Big 8 matches left to play, the Falcons (13-11 overall, 6-7 in Big 8) will need to snap the losing streak - currently at five - if they hope to finish in the top half of the conference and earn a spot in the CCCAA state playoffs.  They'll host Santa Rosa (14-11 overall, 8-7 in Big 8) on Friday night at 6:30, then finish off with Diablo Valley on Monday and at Cosumnes River on Tuesday.
