The Folsom Lake volleyball team, fresh off their stunning victory over American River, kept the momentum going on Friday night with a straight-set win at Sierra, 25-20, 25-17, 25-17. Sophomore Taylar Schafer, who began the season primarily as a back-row specialist, had a game-high 15 kills and 11 digs in her expanded role of outside hitter. With injuries depleting the front line, Schafer has thrived in her hitter's role.
The Falcons (12-5 overall, 5-1 in Big 8) have now won six straight matches since their Big 8-opening loss at Delta and sit in second place. They'll play at Santa Rosa (10-5 overall, 4-2 Big 8) on Wednesday night before returning home to host Cosumnes River on Friday.
