The Folsom Lake volleyball team opened their Big 8 Conference schedule on Wednesday night with a convincing 3-0 win over Sacramento City at Falcon Gym, winning 25-20, 25-16, 25-16. The Falcons had notable performances throughout their lineup, including outside hitter Mikayla Ide, defensive specialist Maria Rivera, oppo hitter Olivia Rush, and hitter/defender Taylar Schafer. Setter Kendall Hughes kept the visiting Panthers guessing throughout the match as she distributed the ball all over the court. The Falcons' confidence grew with each set as the outcome became more inevitable, allowing coach Molly Hanrahan to substitute liberally during the final set.
The Falcons (6-4 overall) can't gloat for too long, however, as they will travel to Stockton on Friday to face state-ranked #3 Dellta College (7-1) at 6:30 pm.
