Falcons sweep Santa Rosa in 3
The Falcons put together perhaps their finest match of the season on Friday night with a straight-set victory over Santa Rosa at Falcon Gym, winning 25-21, 25-17, 26-24. The Falcons avenged an October 5-set loss to the Bear Cubs with all aspects of their game clicking; three players tallied double figures in kills, while five Falcons each had at least 10 digs as the team amassed 87 total digs for the match. Katy Kasparian, Mikayla Ide, and Taylar Schafer were solid at the net with 11, 11, and 10 kills respectively. Ide also dug out 23 balls with perhaps her most complete game of the season, while defensive specialist Maria Rivera added 19 digs. Setter Kendall Hughes also shined as she tallied 35 assists.
The Falcons (10-18 overall, 4-10 in Big 8), still with faint playoff hopes, will host third place Delta (14-9, 10-4 in Big 8) on Wednesday night at 6:30 in the final home volleyball match of 2021.
