Beavers hold off the Falcons' bid for an upset
The Falcons faced a tough American River squad on Wednesday night at Falcon Gym, and for a good part of the evening looked every bit a worthy opponent for the #11-ranked Beavers. But in the end, ARC held their ground, winning in 3 sets: 25-15, 25-14, 25-15. While the Beavers (15-5 overall, 7-1 in Big 8) were clearly the better team, it was evident that the Falcons are not that far behind. With the second half of the Big 8 schedule starting next week, the Falcons will have a chance to improve on their 1-7 Big 8 record and could leapfrog several teams in the standings over the final four weeks of play.
