The young Falcons faced probably their toughest opponent of the young season in Butte College at the Butte Classic Tournament on Wednesday in Oroville. Although the Falcons led late in each set, they failed to put away the Roadrunners and consequently lost their first match of the season by the slimmest of margins, 26-24, 25-23, and 26-24. Defensively, Emma Flewell led the Falcons with five blocks and 10 digs, while Kylie Haverson hammered 11 kills. In the late match, the Falcons returned to their winning ways with a straight-set victory over Los Medanos, 25-22, 25-20, and 25-18. Kylie Haverson once again led the Falcons with 19 kills and 13 digs to complement setter Isabel Mason's 29 assists. The Falcons now own a 7-1 record as they head into Big 8 Conference play, beginning Friday night against Sacramento City College at Falcon Gymnasium.
