The newest Folsom Lake College athletic team continued their run of early-season success on Wednesday afternoon at the Ohlone Classic Tournament in Fremont as the Falcons won two more matches to improve to 6-0. The Falcons opened play with a 3-1 victory over College of the Siskiyous (25-20, 25-23, 21-25, and 25-17). The loss in set #3 was the first set the Falcons have lost this season. In the late match, FLC defeated Ohlone in a thrilling 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-18, and 25-23) match. Falcon head coach Matt Torrez praised his team for their group effort, noting, "…the team got help from lots of players; it was a solid team effort."
The women are off until next Wednesday, when they travel to Oroville for the Butte College Classic Tournament with matches against Butte and Los Medanos. The tournament will serve as the team's final tune-up before they open Big 8 Conference play against Sacramento City College next Friday (Sept 16) in Falcon Gymnasium.
