Women's Volleyball Stays Undefeated

Folsom Lake College hosted their first-ever indoor athletic event in Falcon Gym on Wednesday, and first impressions are that visiting teams may not enjoy it here.  The Falcons won both their matches yesterday in straight sets (3-0 ) and improved their unblemished record to 4-0 in this inaugural season.  With outside hitter Kylie Haverson (freshman, El Dorado HS) sparking the attack with 14 kills, the Falcons wore down Lassen College in the opening match, 25-21, 25-15, and 25-11.  Middle hitter Emma Flewell again was everywhere with 6 kills, 5 digs, and a service ace, while defensive specialist Alexis Mauck had 13 digs.
In the later match, the Falcons continued their remarkable start to this first season with an even more dominating win over Ohlone College, 25-19, 25-9, and 25-17.  Again, it was Haverson leading the way with 12 kills and 8 digs.  Outside hitter Gwen Hernandez tallied 4 service aces and 6 kills, and setter Sam Hegseth recorded 30 assists.
The Falcons will next play at the Ohlone Classic Tournament next Wednesday (Sept 7) in Fremont, where they'll face College of the Siskiyous and Ohlone.
