Falcon women roll past West Valley, 4-0

The Folsom Lake women's soccer team concluded their non-conference schedule on Friday night with a dominating performance over West Valley College at Falcon Stadium.  The final 4-0 score sounds closer than the actual game itself;  the Falcons rarely defended the ball in their half of the field and had numerous shots that resulted in near misses.  Falcon goalkeepers Grace Filliau and Reese Clark played spectators for most of the match as very few balls crossed midfield.  Freshman Klaire Horton and sophomore Avery Pieri each scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Falcon offense.  For Horton, her second goal (in the 59th minute) was her team-leading fifth of the season and also credited Pieri with her team-leading third assist of the season.  Coach Ribaudo was able to find playing time for his entire roster as the Falcons dominated the match from start to finish.

The Falcons (6-0-2 in non-conference play) will now set their sights on Big 8 Conference rival and state #10 ranked Sierra (5-1).  The teams will meet at 6:00 pm on Tuesday night at FLC.
