Women's Soccer Shuts Out Delta

The FLC women's soccer team took sole possession of third place in the Big 8 Conference with an immensely important 1-0 win over Delta College on Friday afternoon in Stockton.  The Falcons' defense, anchored by Megan Trent, Mia Evans, and Natalie Fischer,  was once again impenetrable as they notched their third shutout in as many games.   Neither side was able to record a goal until the 75th minute, when Falcon freshman Keionna Claypoole took a pass from Breanna Brumet, made a move and shot the ball to the far post that broke the tie with her eighth goal of the season.  Goalkeeper Aubrey Hall was credited with four saves as she earned her sixth shutout of the season.  The Falcons (7-3-3 in the Big 8,  12-3-3 overall) have just three matches remaining in conference play and are off until Friday, when they play at Modesto.
