Lady Falcons Continue Win Streak

The FLC women won their fourth consecutive game and remained undefeated in the Bay Valley Conference with a 6-0 win at Los Medanos College in Pittsburg.  The Falcons were led by Player of the Game Caitlin Castle, who scored two goals and provided an assist on another.  Castle's first goal, a laser to the far post top corner, came in the 17th minute off an assist by Paty Navarro.  The only other first half goal came following a nice 7-pass series that culminated with a goal by Michelle Kimball, assisted by Castle.  "We played alright in the first half," remarked coach Donny Ribaudo, "but we really picked up steam as the game went on.  The second half was probably our best half this season."  The Falcons scored four times in the second half, including two by freshman forward Alexis Wallace and one each by Castle and Navarro.  "We're finally getting healthy and everybody's getting a chance to play," noted Ribaudo.  Not to be overlooked is that the Falcons have yet to allow a goal in four BVC games.  After playing forward the last two games, regular starting goalkeeper Alison Darr notched her fourth shutout of the 2014 season.
