Late Goal Nets Win For Falcons

On Friday, the FLC women hosted DeAnza in a non-conference rematch of their September victory in Cupertino.  This time, the defenses excelled for both teams as they turned away every attack.  As the game moved into the second half still tied at zeroes, it was apparent that one goal might be all that was needed.  With just four minutes to play, FLC sophomore forward Michelle Kimball headed a free kick from Danielle Otto toward the corner of the goal that managed to just slip by the Deanza goalkeeper for the only goal of the game.  The 1-0 victory extended the Falcons' winning streak to seven and improved their overall record to 11-3.  It  also marked the 30th win in the short history of FLC women's soccer.

The Falcons begin the second half of the BVC schedule with a trip to Ukiah on Tuesday to face second-place Mendocino (12-2 overall, 5-1 in BVC) in a match that could determine the BVC champion.  FLC won the first time they played back on Sept 23, but expect another tough match from the Eagles.
