Falcons Soar Past American River in Dominant Victory
The Folsom Lake College Falcons delivered a commanding performance on February 18, 2025, securing a resounding 74-30 victory over American River College. With strong teamwork, efficient shooting, and aggressive defense, the Falcons controlled the game from start to finish.
Folsom Lake set the tone early, limiting American River to just four points in the first quarter while putting up 12 of their own. The Falcons continued to build their lead throughout the game, capped by a dominant 26-6 fourth quarter to seal the emphatic win.
Leading the way for the Falcons was Athena Brombacher, who contributed 13 points while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out three assists. Leilani Edinburgh and Livi Fernandez also made key impacts, each scoring 10 and 9 points, respectively, while Fernandez dominated the boards with 10 rebounds.
Point guard Lexi Peters orchestrated the offense efficiently, tallying seven assists and three steals to go along with her nine points. Off the bench, Ursula Chen and Kelis Powell provided valuable scoring depth, combining for 14 points. Jasmine Clee was a force inside, pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds to control the paint.
Folsom Lake's defensive intensity was on full display, forcing 23 turnovers and collecting 14 steals, stifling American River's offensive rhythm. Their rebounding effort was equally impressive, as they outrebounded American River 54-0, completely shutting down second-chance opportunities for their opponents.
