Falcon women edged by CRC in final home game of the season

Playing their final home game of 2021-22 season, the Folsom Lake women fell to Cosumnes River 44-43 on Monday afternoon at Falcon Gym in a game that was every bit as close as the final score.  The Hawks grabbed the lead -  on the only basket of the final three minutes - with 1:57 to play, then held on as both teams played tenacious defense until the buzzer.  Freshman forward Megan Williams was nearly unstoppable in the paint, scoring 14 points to lead the Falcons while Daily Applegarth hit three 3-pointers on her way to 11 points.  In a brief pre-game ceremony, the Falcons paid tribute their only sophomore, Delaney Keddie, who was part of the 2019-20 team that reached the CCCAA playoffs.

The Falcons finished their regular season at 11-15 overall and fifth place in the Big 8 Conference at 7-7.  This weekend's NorCal seeding meeting will determine their opponent for next week's (first round - Tuesday, Mar 1) CCCAA state playoffs.
