On Saturday, the Falcons faced Long Beach City College in the tournament third-place game. The Vikings feature three players over 6 feet tall and entered the game with a 7-2 record in 2021. Needless to say, the Falcons were a bit overmatched, but still played tough throughout the game, which they lost 80-55. The Vikings built a big lead in the first quarter, but the Falcons had the advantage in the second quarter. A big third quarter (27-9) sealed the deal for Long Beach, with the Falcons basically running on fumes after a long weekend. Reya Lee led the Falcons with 14 points and Macie Purbaugh added nine points to go with her 5 assists. While the Falcons' 2-7 record doesn't look great, six of those seven losses have come at the hands of top-20 ranked opponents.
The Falcons will play at Butte College (6-5) on Thursday at 7:00 pm before returning home to host Yuba (3-5) on Saturday evening at 5:30 pm.
