Falcon women improve Big 8 record to 3-2 with win at Modesto

The Folsom Lake women's basketball team won their second straight game and moved one game over .500 in the Big 8 with a comfortable 88-63 victory over Modesto on Saturday afternoon in Modesto.  Freshman forward Delaney Keddie followed up her 24-point performance from Thursday night with a team-leading 25 -point total against the Pirates.  All five starters scored in double figures for the Falcons, including 16 each by Mo Peters and Alexis Zimmerman.  The Falcons continued to utilize good passing to find easy shots -just as they did against CRC - and finished with a season-high team total of 30 assists (a school single-game record!), led by sophomore Shay Boley with 8.  Other significant stats were the 51% shooting from the field and 45% from 3-point (9-of-20).  The Falcons also outrebounded the Pirates, 36- 24, including 11 offensive boards.

This week's schedule is a daunting one for the Falcons with a home game against Big 8 leader and state #2 ranked Delta (15-1) on Tuesday evening, then a game at Big 8 #3 and state #12 Sierra (13-5) on Friday in Rocklin.
