Falcons make quick work of Diablo Valley

The Folsom Lake softball team was so efficient on Tuesday that they spent more time traveling to and from Pleasant Hill than they did in defeating Diablo Valley in five innings, 9-1.  The Falcons quickly jumped in front of the Vikings with a three run first inning, then added six runs in the fifth inning to break the game open.  Falcon starter Adriana Gonzalez not only held the Vikings hitless, but rapped out three. hits herself, including a three-run home run in the fifth inning.  Sydnee Verlin had two hits and got the Falcons started with a three-run double in the first inning.  

The Falcons improved to 13-7 overall and are currently in fourth place in the Big 8. with a 5-2 record.  they'll host Big 8 co-leader Sierra (18-6, 7-1 in Big 8) for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12 noon.
