The Falcons' long road trip to Susanville (4+ hours each way) on Tuesday was made much more tolerable with two wins over Lassen College, 5-3 and 9-0. Despite allowing two seventh inning runs, Falcon starting pitcher Olivia Aguigam hung on to pitch a complete game, striking out eight Cougars while walking none. The offense was paced by Araya Corral, who had two hits – including a triple - and scored twice, and Valerie Garcia, who had a double and two RBI.
In the second game, Gigi Mendez held the Cougars to just one hit while pitching a five inning shutout. The Falcons racked up 10 hits and both Hannah Harvey and Vanessa Lopez had two RBI each. The Falcons improved to 7-17 overall in 209 and will have back-to-back doubleheaders on Thursday and Friday against Santa Rosa and Sierra, respectively.
