Pitcher's duel ends with 1-0 Foothill victory

In the second game of opening day, a classic pitcher's duel dominated the storyline before the Foothill Owls scratched out a tight 1-0 win over the Falcons at Falcon Diamond.  Foothill's Tiana Bolin was masterful, allowing just one hit and three walks in her complete-game victory.  FLC's McKenna Rickles, though not nearly as dominant as Bolin, benefitted from some oustanding Falcon defense while shutting out the Owls though the first four innings, including three well-timed double plays.  The Owls broke through with one run - scored on a groundout - in the fifth inning and that was all they would need to secure the win.  Falcon shortstop Raven lewis managed the only hit for the home team, a single in the sixth inning.

The Falcons are scheduled to play two games in Merced on Saturday (Feb 3); against Merced at 11:00 am and against San Jose at 1:00 pm.
