The Falcons' softball team wasted a brilliant pitching performance by freshman Lauren Orris in game one of their Wednesday afternoon doubleheader against Cosumnes River as they lost 5-1 at Falcon Diamond. Orris kept the Hawks' bats in check through most of the game, trailing just 3-1 as she started the seventh inning. The Hawks managed to plate two in the final frame for the winning 5-1 margin, but the game was much closer than the final score indicated.
In game two, the Hawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first ining, then put up crooked numbers in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings as they pulled away to a 16-3 five-inning win. Gaby Fruciano and McKenna Rickles both had two hits to lead the Falcons.
