Falcons let one slip away vs DVC
Despite getting 10 hits - including Gaby Fruciano's first collegiate home run - the FLC softball team fell to Diablo Valley on Tuesday afternoon at Falcon Diamond, 10-4. The Falcons took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning and did not trail until the Vikings scored three in the fifth to go aahead 4-1. Starting pitcher McKenna Rickles had been sharp early on, but things unraveled in the seventh inning as the Vikings scored six runs. Still, the Falcons rallied in their half of the seventh, starting with Fruciano's line drive leadoff home run to center field. They tallied three before the game ended with runners on base.
Brieana Maddux, Kelsey Liddell, and Mia Matista all recorded multi-hit games for the Falcons.
