Falcon Men Defeated in Season Finale

With eight players unavailable for Friday's season-ending match at Napa Valley College due to injury, suspension, conflicts, and illness, FLC men's soccer coach Martin Roberts knew his team would be battling the odds to finish with a win.  As it turned out, the Falcons held their own for most of the match and gave Napa all they could handle, but eventually lost 3-1.  Sam Garcia scored FLC's only goal in the 60th minute of play.  The goal was Garcia's second of the season it tied him with Tyler Scott for the team lead.  The Falcons finished the season with a 3-15-3 overall record and 2-8-2 in the Bay Valley Conference.  "Nine total goals in 21 games pretty much explains the difficulties we faced this season," noted coach Roberts, referring to the team's lack of scoring.  "We're already recruiting scorers for next year."

In spite of their final record, the men were a competitive team as evidenced by the fact that seven of the team's 15 losses were by just one goal.  With their inaugural season behind them, the Falcons will be ready for 2015!
