Falcons Tie Yuba
The FLC men came out strong with a relentless attack that led to numerous shots on goal, though none found the net. Yuba had no answer for the Falcons' speed yet somehow managed to keep the score even at zero, mostly due to a series of acrobatic saves by the Yuba goalie. The only serious attack mustered by the 49ers resulted in a late first-half goal, making it 1-0. It remained that way well into the second half as FLC continued to pepper the goal with shots but could not penetrate. Finally, in the 75th minute, center-back Logan Guler advanced the ball well past midfield where he then sent a ball to the streaking Tyler Scott on the left side. Scott beat his defender to the goal line, then crossed to Matt Morton in front of the goal for the equalizer. With the score now tied, FLC was relentless in their pursuit of a winning goal. The last ten minutes were a series of close calls, but none made their way into goal, resulting in a 1-1 tie. The Falcons are now 2-9-2 overall, 1-3-1 in the BVC.
