Falcons win despite "ugly" 417

The 2018 Big 8 Conference champion Falcons opened defense of their title with a victory in the first Big 8 Tournament of 2019 on Wednesday at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin.  The Falcons won with a very ugly (according to Coach Zarecky)  team score of 417 on the tricky, narrow Whitney Oaks layout.  Max Menconi was the team's low scorer with a 78, but it was sixth man Kaden Ward who saved the day with his 80 while finishing play in the dark.  Thanks to Ward, the Falcons finished three strokes ahead of American River for the team win.
