Golfers take second at Big 8 Tourney #5

The Falcons entered Wednesday's Big 8 Tournament #5 with hopes of taking sole possession of first place in the Big 8 standings,  but after a tough day at Ancil Hoffman Golf Course where all but one of his players shot in the 80's, FLC coach Barry Zarecky was left shaking his head.  "We really fell flat on our faces today," remarked Zarecky.  The lone bright spot was freshman Eric Olsem, who shot even-par 72 to earn the low-score medalist recognition.  Even with five players scoring in the 80's, the Falcons' team score of 401 was still good enough for second place behind conference leader Santa Rosa's 391.  "As bad as we played, we still only lost two points in the standings to Santa Rosa," noted Zarecky.  "It could have been a lot worse."  The Falcons will now focus on next week's NorCal major tournament #3 at Diablo Grande on Monday and Big 8 ournament #7 on the home course (Rancho Murieta) on Wednesday.
