Men's Golf Takes Fourth
The Falcons had four players shoot scores in the 80's as they tumbled from the Big 8 North division lead, finishing fourth in NorCal "Major" tournament #2. "I was shocked at how poorly we played," responded coach Barry Zarecky. "There's really no explanation for it, other than a mental breakdown." The Falcons still shot 397 and finished fourth in the 13-team field, as well as second within the Big 8 North division thanks to some good scores put up by Mason Troike ( 2-under-par 70) and Eric Olsem (74). But with four golfers in the mid 80's, there was no chance to defeat Santa Rosa (370 team score) on Tuesday. "I hope it was a fluke. The conditions could not have been better," noted Zarecky. The Falcons will have until next Wednesday's Big 8 Tournament #4 at Whitney Oaks (Rocklin) to sort things out.
