Falcon Golfers Take 7th in State Championship Tournament
The FLC men's golf team capped off another excellent season with a seventh place finish in the CCCAA State Championship Tournament, held on Monday at Kings River Golf and Country Club. College of the Canyons won the title with a team total of 733 (363 for the morning round/370 for afternoon) for the 36-hole, one day format, while the Falcons shot 768 (386/382). Falcons' sophomore Nick Yell was the low scorer for FLC with his 149 (77/72). Chabot College's Jeremy Sanchez won the individual title with a state tournament-record 8-under par 136 (71/65).
FLC head coach Barry Zarecky was pleased with his team's performance, noting, "We played about how I expected. There's always going to be a certain amount of nerves to deal with, but we handled it well. I'm very proud that we made it to the State Tournament, and it's something to build on for next year."
