Falcons Battle Through Tough Matchups, Clinch Two Wins With Strong Performances

The Folsom Lake College Falcons men's basketball team fought through three intense games this month, emerging victorious in two close matchups before falling in a hard-fought battle against Siskiyous. Despite the split results, the Falcons showcased their resilience and determination as they navigate a competitive season.

On November 1st, the Falcons triumphed over Los Medanos in a thrilling 74-69 comeback victory. After trailing by 10 points at halftime, Folsom Lake's second-half surge, led by Miko Bear's impressive double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, helped them secure the win. Logan Rexford added 14 points, while the Falcons' defense clamped down on Los Medanos, holding them to just 26 points in the final half.

Their winning momentum continued into the next game, a showdown with Marin, where Folsom Lake's dominant first half saw them build a 47-26 lead. Though Marin rallied in the second half, the Falcons maintained their lead, finishing the game 87-80. Bear was unstoppable, scoring a season-high 30 points with 12 rebounds, while Micah Hobson contributed 22 points. The Falcons' balanced scoring and strong rebounding efforts allowed them to withstand Marin's comeback attempt.

In their third game, the Falcons faced a tough Siskiyous team, ultimately falling short with a final score of 85-80. Despite Rexford's 25 points and Miles Lake's 21, Folsom Lake couldn't match Siskiyous' aggressive second-half play, where they outscored the Falcons 52-40. The Falcons fought hard until the final buzzer, demonstrating grit even in defeat.

With a record of 2-1 in these matchups, the Falcons remain strong contenders this season. They'll aim to learn from these intense games as they prepare for upcoming challenges and keep their eyes on the prize.
