CRC holds off Falcon men in another heartstopper

If the Folsom Lake men had visions winning of a share of the Big 8 title, they were going to have to win out the final week.  But Monday evening, the visiting Cosumnes River Hawks had other ideas and put those Falcon title visions to rest with a heart-stopping 69-66 win over the Falcons.  The Falcons had the ball 94 feet away with 2.1 seconds to play after two missed Hawks' free throws, and were able to inbound the ball to their best shooter, Pierce Rexford, but his 40-footer bounced off the rim as time expired.  Missed free throws doomed the Falcons, who made just 3 of 7 in the second half.  Rexford led the Falcons with 22 points and Dane Johnson added 17 points.

The Falcons (15-10 overall, 9-5 in Big 8) will host their final home game of the regular season on Tuesday night against Sierra (13-11, 6-6 in Big 8) in what promises to be another Big 8 Conference battle.
